Ruby Lips

Ruby lips, they whisper to your soul,
Evoking every thirst, the deepest yearning.
Ruby lips, they make you feel whole,
Feeding on every desire that's burning.

For every sin, there's a song and dance
Behind every truth, a deceptive chance.

Ruby lips, they murmur your longing,
A sweet yet deadly melody of lust.
Ruby lips, their song so prolonging,
But once silences can crumble you to dust.

What I'm trying to emphasise is that behind every bad deed is some kind of longing. 'Ruby Lips' refers to the venomously sweet voice in the back of your mind, reminding you of your most ardent desires and encouraging you to do whatever it takes to satisfy them.

Don't Be My Mirror

Just because my eyes can't see me,
I will not need yours.
For trapped in your mist,
I'm hazy and doubtful
A mere ghost of who I am.
Then you drop the curtain,
Calling the show to an end
And what prevails is a vague shadow,
Forever hemmed in.
So I don't need you to be my mirror
Because I'm much more than the ghost in them.

You cannot see yourself with your own eyes and hence trust others to act as your mirror. But you can never be enough in someone else's eye...
